Adolescence has always seen as a period marked by dramatic changes. More so in today's world, teenagers are faced with multifold challenges ? social, emotional, physical and intellectual. During these stormy and stressful years, the focus is inevitably on two crucial aspects:

Acknowledging the need for guidance and support, many schools have begun an in-house counseling center with qualified psychologists. However this trend is only catching at the college level. Our college has taken proactive steps and gone ahead and introduced our very own Counseling Center. This Center, which is located within the college campus, functions in association with Disha Counseling Center.

The center has become functional since 1st August 2008. In less than a month, the response has been overwhelming. After a brief orientation session for all the classes in the college, students have been pouring into the center! As the individual numbers swelled, a few class talks ("Importance of Career Planning") had to be conducted so as to accommodate all the students. Such talks have been conducted for all divisions of the TYBA class and HSC class of Science and Arts stream. A talk was also arranged for the visually challenged students of both degree and junior college, where they were given a platform to discuss their unique personal concerns.

• Personal Counseling section which functions on Wednesday by Ms.Pankti Gada, Clinical Psychologist.

The future:

After the Diwali Break, The Center would be focusing on various kinds of workshops wherein Career as well as personal issues will be handled. The center also intends to extend its helping hand to as many students as possible through individual sessions. There will also be psychometric assessments as per the students' needs and wishes.
