The Library of SIES College was inaugurated by Shri Y.B. Chavan ? Chief Minister of Maharashtra State on 19th July, 1960 and a princely sum of Rs. 35,000/- was spent on the purchase of books and periodicals for the academic year of 1960-1961.? 1,100 students made use of the library facilities and approximately 50 books were issued daily.
The Library is now?53?years old and issues approximately 225 books / CD?s daily. For smooth functioning of the library and for the benefit of the students, the library is divided into two full units.
The circulation area on the second floor consists of the reference section, section for?competitive exams and research cubicles.

Our motto is??Save Reader?s Time??and in order to achieve this we provide an efficient, user - friendly environment for those seeking to quench their thirst for information. The users have quick and easy access to books,national / international journals, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Art Books, CD?s/VCD/s /DVD?s, Maps and Charts. The Library is well stocked and the Fiction section has books by acclaimed Classical and modern authors.

Our Services include:
  • Orientations at the beginning of each academic year.
  • Demonstrations to ensure effective usage of the library
  • Library Catalog is computerized and details such as cupboard number, shelf number, current status of the book, whether ?Available? or ?Not available? is displayed against each book. With these details in hand, students can easily trace their requirements in the library.
  • Open Access system for all students.
  • Separate section for books on Competitive Exams.
  • Gold Card Facility - Gold card is an extra library card given to students of? both degree as well as Junior college students who have secured the first 3 ranks in the previous annual examination.
  • Gold Card Facility to ?Best Reader of the Month?(Home issue).
  • List of new additions are displayed on the Library Notice Board.
  • Cover page of the latest books and periodicals are scanned and displayed as screen savers on all library terminals.
  • Details of Books of importance are displayed on the Digital Display Boardoard.
  • Display of Books on various subjects are held regularly.
  • Paper Clippings of articles of interest are displayed on the Notice Board as well as backdated clippings are available for reference.
  • Question Paper sets are provided for reference as well as photocopying.
  • Soft copies of Question Papers were made available for reference in the Reading Hall. Printouts of these are also provided on request.
  • Photocopying facility is available within the library.
  • Syllabus / Past question papers / Project Reports are provided in Reference and printouts are also provided.
  • CD / DVD Players available to students.
  • CD?s / DVD?s are issued to students for a day.
  • Maps/Charts are issued to Staff Members.
  • Free access to internet and Book bank scheme for economically backward students
  • The Library has institutional membership of other well known Libraries. They are :
