- Tanabata Celebration on 8th July 2013, @SIES
|
Aim: Understanding the Japanese Culture |
- What if you are quite in terms with a Japanese and need to strike a conversation (Learn Basic Japanese)
- Do not want to make a fool of yourself while chewing onto an authentic Japanese grub (Learn how to eat with Chopsticks)
- Learn some easy Japanese delicacies- and go all foodie over them on your own.
- Understand the culture of Tanabata- Pray on bamboos to get that extra luck on your pricey wishes.
- The editorial focuses on making people understand the culture, tradition of Tanabata
|
Concept: |
Astounding it is how love binds and twines people to work together and endure the strong suit and affection in a team. Tanabata is a focal point of those unpretentious joys and tremendous efforts of a family that loves and esteems its unanimity. Tanabata celebrates the union of two Japanese deities Orihime and Hikoboshi; it?s a day when the Japanese folks make a wish. For all of us Tanabata was a celebration of the ever so strong bond that we as a Rotaract family have built in such a short while. |
Highlights: |
- We avowed it to be our first international services event. Incorporating important fragments of the Japanese culture, the event commenced at 12:00 noon -With a traditionally dressed mascot with a Japanese fan welcoming people.
- The door was decorated with a lantern and had a welcoming dose of chocolate dipped marshmallows; the dais had a beautifully decorated board with lightings, festoons and streamers.
- The gracious host for the event Rtr. Sharbani Mukherjee (former exchange student of our institution to Japan) taught the partakers basic Japanese and how to eat Okonomiyaki with chopsticks and the exquisite tradition of Tanabata
- We teemed the wishing tree with the most pleasant wishes and we bid a farewell to the most enchanting and endearing event.
- The event was well attended by the faculty and students alike.

Nelson Mandela International Day? on 17th July? 2013 @SIES
|
Aim: The philosophies of today will be the lashing might of tomorrow. It is enchanting, how the vision of one person becomes a dream of inevitability for the others. To bring in the audacity of the views of our very own pillars to tomorrow. We pulled up as many visions as we could from various people from other clubs and made a route of clarity for all the students of our institution to place their views and philanthropically reasonable ideologies. To unleash the strength of their dreams and to give them plot -enough to build pricey skyscrapers of tomorrow. |
Concept: The concept was simple to just make college students aware about the work of Nelson Mandela and understand people's perspective on Freedom ,Democracy and Justice (the 3 principles that he preaches) |
Highlights: |
- We placed a white board at the corridor of our institutions and encouraged our fellow students to fill it up with their very own ideologies on freedom, Justice and Democracy.
- These young theorists filled the board with many stick on sheets and flooded us with astounding initiatives and ideas.
- Multiplicity and diversity in their outlooks and opinions were clustered up to be the ?ONE VOICE? of our club.
- We had Rotractors from all over the district participating with their thoughts in 67 words(The number of years he has denoted to social service)
- The thoughts were compiled in an editorial and in jpegs and released .
