XZOOBERANCE
|
The festival of Zoology department XZOOBERANCE, this year had the theme ?UNISOL-THE LAST DROP OF WATER?. It was held on 21st, 22nd and 23rd December 2009 along with VISIONS, the college fest. The fourth year of XZOOBERANCE has been our small contribution to the movement against the apathy of our lifeline-WATER. We use it, misuse it and strive for it and we curse it. We are happy for it and we cry because of it. Water is just like our own property. This is what we think and this is what we err at.
|
Thus we set out this year to find out what we humans are erring at. And, the event based platform like XZOOBERANCE helped us. We have been successful in accomplishing our goals of creating awareness. The different competitions helped us in justified portrayal of water as a commodity, as a source, as the pacifier and as the danger. We received participation from other colleges as well.
|
-
Our model making competition ?AQUAPRO? on 21st dealt with the origin of water, its various forms, water dynamics etc.
-
The quiz ?TIME TRIAL? with 12 participants sought a survey of the general image of water amongst us.
-
The LCD PRESENTATIONS, had much more specific and grave topics like Bioremediation, Water Pollution etc. Participants also dealt with aquatic life and its status.
-
?SPLASH?, a photography competition was held on 22nd. We proved that no particular class of citizens is responsible for water pollution. The real face of Juhu beach was well depicted by 12 participants through their photographs.
-
The poster making competition ?DRENCH? held on 23rd showcased our own carelessness as how we waste and misuse water. The artists rendered speechless strokes to have everyone spell bound. We are very happy that through XZOOBERANCE, the audience was enlightened about the universal liquid, water.
|
The only event away from the theme was the ?KNOCK OUT? which was held on 23rd. It was a combination of many fun games akin SU-DO-KU, LUDO, BRAINVITA etc. This was a unanimous volunteer demand which was duly fulfilled and greatly enjoyed.
|
Overall UNISOL - THE LAST DROP OF WATER?. attracted a good audience and they left highly enlightened.
