NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATIONS |
S.I.E.S College Gymkhana department celebrated National Sports Day on 29 August 2012 to commemorate the birthday of Hockey legend of India Major Dynanchand. |
Gymkhana department organised "Tug - of - war" event for Degree and Junior college students, for boys as well as girls. The event was inaugurated by the graceful hands of Principal Dr. Harsha Mehta. The event witnessed huge participation of 32 teams of students. The event was a huge success as the rain God was very kind towards SIES students and staff. All the members of Gymkhana commitee helped and supported for the smooth conduct of the event. At the end First three successful teams were awarded certificates by the Principal. |

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET (2012-2013) |
The?annual athletic meet of our?college was held on Tuesday 11th December 2012 at the Dadoji Kondeo Stadium,?Thane. It was scheduled to begin at ?8.30 am and to end by 4.30 pm. The teaching staff members, from Junior as well as Degree college and the ?non-teaching staff members, were present before the scheduled time to take charge of their duties. The participants, young boys and girls, were all enthusiastic to compete. Some of the participants were accompanied by their parents; a few had their own trainers to support them while some others had their friends to cheer them up. Spot entries were also entertained to give opportunity for more participation |
The stadium being in Thane, this year there was record number of participants. Heats and semifinals were conducted for many of the events. |

Three medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) were awarded for men students and women students separately based on their performance for every event. Certificates were given to all the winners on the spot. CHESS?TOURNAMENT?FOR THE VISUALLY CHALLENGED (2012-2013) |
Inter Collegiate Chess tournament for the visually challenged students was held on 31st?January,2013?in association with Akhil Maharashtra Chess Association for the Blind. A?total of 20 students from various city colleges registered for the tournament. Joint Honorary Secretary of S I E S? Mr. Kalahasthi inaugurated the event at 10.00 am. Our Principal Dr. Harsha Mehta presided over the inaugural function Rounds for boys and girls were held separately. Four rounds of 50 minutes each were provided for each boy participant. Girls were provided with 3 rounds of 50 minutes each. All the participants were playing with full enthusiasm and confidence. Student volunteers from gymkhana kept all their personal work aside and helped in the smooth conduct of this great event.? Three prizes were awarded separately for boys and? girls. All the participants were given?certificates. They were all very happy for the encouragement given by ?our Principal. The event was successfully completed at 4.00 pm |
