  • 29th ?August? is declared as ?NATIONAL SPORTS DAY? by Govt of India as it is the birth day of great Indian sportsman Major Dnyanchand. We celebrated this by organizing a ?TUG-OF-WAR? for our students in the college quadrangle on?Monday, 30th Aug.? Our principal, Dr Harsha Mehta, Chief guest?inaugrated the event by ?lighting ?the lamp?at 10.30 am. In all there were 16 teams. Each team consisted of 5 boys and 3 girls from Junior and Degree college classes. Teams were selected on knockout basis. Best 3 teams were selected and awarded medals. This event was well attended and enjoyed by all the students.

INTERCOLLEGIATE CHESS TOURNAMENT FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS
Our college organized the intercollegiate chess tournament for the visually challenged students on 15th Dec 2010. There were total 23 entries from various city colleges.
Our Principal inaugurated the event at 10.15 am. The tournament for ?MEN and WOMEN was conducted separately.
Five rounds of 25minutes were provided for each participant. The points scored were recorded and based on the points scored, 3 prizes with certificates were awarded separately for MEN and WOMEN. Our student volunteers took great care to see that the event was conducted smoothly. The juries played their role very enthusiastically. The event ended at 4.30 pm.

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET (2010-2011)
(SPORTS DAY)
The? annual athletic meet of our? college was held on Monday 31st, January 2011 at St.Xavier's Sports Complex, Parel,? Mumbai. It was scheduled to begin at 8.00 am and to end by 5.30 pm. The staff members, both teaching as well as non teaching were present at the ground to take charge of their duties before the scheduled time. The participants were all enthusiastic to compete. Some of the participants were accompanied by their parents to support them while some others had their friends to cheer them up. There were many spot entries also. Vice Principal Junior College Prof. Mary Cheru made her presence felt as she was retiring from her services in the college on this day.

Three medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) were awarded for men students ??????and women students separately based on their performance for every event. They were also given certificates. There were events for both the teaching (Men and women)staff? as well as Non teaching staff.
Gymkhana committee members, teaching and non teaching staff members helped in the smooth conduct of this mega event.

We take this opportunity to thank our Management, Principal, Vice Principals, Teaching and Non-teaching staff and all the participants for making this event a grand success.
