42ND YOUTH FESTIVAL (2009-10)
On 24th July 2009, a meeting was conducted by Shri. Mrudul Nile, Director of Student Welfare. The time table of all events to be conducted as part of 42nd Youth festival organized by the University of Mumbai was proposed.
We submitted the entry form for 11 events in the category of performing arts, Literary, Fine Arts and Theatre. More than 30 students participated. The dates of the festival were postponed from August to September 2009. Another meeting at V. K. Menon college was scheduled on 1st September. Topics of Debate, Elocution and other queries were discussed.

The winners of the Zonal Round had to appear for the finals almost immediately.
For the meeting and every round, the Contingent Leaders (Anuja Kapadia and Sajan Gupta) were present for registration, during the various events to cheer up the participants and even during declaration of prize winners function. The C Ls also managed? and co-ordinated rehearsals for the participants and looked after all administrative details.
Teachers from the college, especially Ms. Kamala Shrinivas and Ms. Surekha Joshi helped in training the students for English Debate and Music respectively. We are grateful to them for having spared their valuable time for the same. We also would like to appreciate the translation work done by Ms. Asha Gala for the synopsis that was required for Folk Dance.
For? the One Act Play (Marathi), Mr. Amol Sankhulkar who is a noted theatre and T.V. artist, musician and director was appointed to train our budding actors.Ms. Aparna Bhadbade, a participant on one of the most popular Marathi Shows called ?Eka Peksha Ek? agreed to choreograph a Garba for our? talented dancers. Ms. Aparna is a well known stage performer and also a distinguished choreographer.
Many students won the prize under various categories.
