  • Admission?forms?for FY B A /B Sc / BCom / BMM / BMS / BSc(IT) is?available till?12th June 2009,??between 9.30am to 12.30 pm. Also, the forms are to be submitted by the above mentioned date and time.
  • Three day workshop was conducted by Karrox Technologies, titled as follows :
    • 27th April - Leadership Dynamics & Coaching for Developments.
    • 28th April - Way with Words and Presenting for Impact.
    • 29th April - Dynamics & Non-Vernal Communicaiton.
  • MSc by Research in Biochemistry - Two students have completed their PG by research. Two students have submitted the thesis and viva will be in June. One student has completed Laboratory work.
  • The department of philosophy, organized two day National seminar on "Revisiting Vedanta in twenty first century", on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th, January 2009. The event focused on philosophical & religious values described in Vedanta philosophy. The aim was to bring out of the relevance of Vedanta in todays world. The seminar was inaugurated by justice B. N. Srikrishna.

  • PUKAR and the Economics Association presented an International seminar on "A Global Perspective on Urbanisation" on 20th January, 2009. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Anita Patil Deshmukh, Executive PUKAR and Sr. Advisor, India China Institute.

  • The Economics Association organized a photo exhibition ?Girangaon- Kal, Aaj aur kal? on 20th and 21st January 2009. Due to public demand, the exhibition was extended by one day.

  • ?Type II Diabetes? by Dr. Stephen Yeamon, New Castle University(U.K) on 21st January,2009
  • The History and Politics Association organized a guest lecture by Dr. Preeta Nilesh?? (Reader, Kelkar Vaze College) on 23rd January,2009. The topic was ? Hospitality Industry in the 19th century?.
  • VISIONS - Born 2 b Wild on 3rd, 4th & 5th Jan, 2009.
    College Fest---of the students and for the students.

  • Endowment Prize Distribution was held on 5th January, 2009.
    The teaching and non-teaching staff of the college who have completed 25 years of service were felicitated on 5th Jan, 2009.

    Dr. Ashok Mehta award for the current year was awarded to Mr. P. L. Ranade from office and Mr. Awate (Chemistry laboratory attendant).

  • Blood Donation Camp --was held on 2nd January, 2009 in the college quandrangle.
  • MANZILIEN - SIES CAREER FAIR ON 1 & 2 December, 2008.
    The main features of the fair were :-

    a) Charts and poster exhibition on more than 100 career opportunities available to the students.

    b) Lectures, Presentations and Workshops by experts from different fields.

    c) Stalls put up by participating institutions and organizations.

    The fair ran successfully.
  • Unique achievement of the institution. Ganapathy Ramachandran, a former student of BMM Dept (2001-2003) received a Nationwide Award for the Best English Logo Signifying the spirit of Mumbai city.

Studying Abroad
A FREE SEMINAR for TY students and PG students from all the streams is organized on Monday, the 4th August, 2008. The seminar will be conducted by an eminent personality from education industry.

  • A 2-day field trip was arranged by the Biotechnology department to Laboratory Nuclear Medicine department of the BARC at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel? on the 18th and 19th of November 2008. The TY B.Sc students participated and they got hands-on experience on modern technology instruments?ELISA Radio immuno assay.
  • To discuss the performance of the TY B.Sc students appearing for the University examination, on 22nd November 2008 a parent-teacher meeting was held by theBiotechnology department. All the students were benefited.
  • Annual Athletic Meet was held on 1st and 6th December 2008 at the University pavilion, Marine Lines. It was so surprising that this year there were 12 teams for the 4?100m relay for men and the day ended beyond the expected schedule. It was a huge success.
  • Malayalam Association conducted a quiz competition and an essay writing competition on 2nd December 2008.
  • Certificates were distributed on 3rd December 2008 to successful candidates doing Module 1 and 2 of Vedic Mathematics course.
  • The teachers and the students participated in a workshop conducted? on 11th December 2008 by the Biotechnology department. The title of the workshop was ? Molecular Biology, Biotechnology ?. Demonstration of the techniques was also shown.
  • The core committee members of the Examination committee attended a meeting on 12th December 2008 to plan the schedule of the following examinations ?Term II, Additional Exam., Supplementary Exam., Practical Exam. for the FY and the SY classes as well as the University Examination for the TY classes.
  • On 13th December 2008 the Sanskrit Day was celebrated in the Conference Hall. The participated students were all happy.
  • Our college is very proud to say that for the past so many years the teachers are being selected as the teaching staff at the University campus, Kalina and this year too two of our staff members Ms. Shobha V. Ghosh from the English department and Dr. Kinnary Thakker from the Commerce Department were absorbed.
  • Ms Lakshmi Muthukumar from the English department was appointed as the Head of the department from the second term.
  • On 20th Dec.2008, the Governor of Maharashtra called for a youth meet at Shivaji Park, Dadar to felicitate the martyrs who have either lost their lives or who have shown bravery during the Mumbai terror attack on 26-11-2008. Our college students participated in large numbers. Principal, Vice Principals, Supervisor(Jr. college), Teaching and also the non-teaching staff participated.
  • Visions ? Born 2 b Wild , the college fest was held together with Zeigers (Computer Science Fest), XZooberance (Zoology Dept), Copyrights (BMM Dept) and Eloquence (BMS Dept) on 3rd,4th and 5th of January,2009. Several workshops were conducted by the students. Some of them were horticulture, clay modeling, photography,? hair styling,? ayurveda etc. Antakshari, duet dance, street dance, IT cross word, painting, flower arrangement, film show, handwriting analysis treasure hunt, herbal? garden with different juices, last man standing( similar to BIG BOSS of TV show), personality contest, fashion show web designing were some of the competitions and events held. There were so many others and the list is never ending. Many well known personalities visited our college during these 3 days.
  • The Principal along with nine FY JC students? visited Japan under SAARC nation programme organized by Japan Foundation in the month of Dec. 2008(1st to 10th Dec. 2008). This was a cultural activity organized by Japan. This will be followed by a second visit to Japan under JENESYS programme? in? June 2009. Two students learning Japanese language in our college are selected to attend this along with Japanese teacher since our college is offering Japanese as second language and conducting Japanese certificate course.
