MEGA REUNION - "ENTERTAINMENT & DINNER NITE - 18th April, 2009 |
Mega Reunion for Ex-Students was held on Saturday, 18th April, 2009 in the college premises by PAST STUDENTS ASSOCIATION.
The Event was a grand success which had entertainment programmes like songs, cultural activities, western solo, guitar etc. by students as well as ex-students, felicitation of prominent alumnis which then followed by dinner. The function was attended by almost 400 alumni and the event was enjoyed by all. We thank all those who made this event a success.

PAST STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION REPORT (2008-2009) |
The Past Students' Association has always made their presence felt in the college through various activities like setting up Microbiology Lab, Centre for Visually Challenged, Herbal Medicinal Plant Garden, Conducting Workshops, Campus interviews, instituted endowment prizes, donation of books to the library, etc.?

- The Department of statistics had organized alumni meet in August 2008.

The 1969 batch of physics students launched lectures titled ?New Frontiers in Physics? to pay tribute to the C. P. Narayan Menon, Former Vice-Principal and Head of the Department Physics who left for heavenly abode. This will be an annual feature henceforth. It was the first memorial lecture arranged to show their love, affection & respect to Late Prof.C.P.Narayan Menon. The speakers were themselves alumni of the same batch :
- Dr. Nalini Easwar, Scientist, Smith College USA. She specially came to India to deliver the first sponsored lecture and the topic chosen was ?Your visit to Juhu Beach will never be the same again?
- Dr. S. Krishnan, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. He took time off from his busy schedule and his lecture was recorded the previous evening in the college conference hall and was working till 8.00 P.M

The Alumni (1969 Batch of Physics) has donated highly informative CDs for the students.

An interactive session of physics students was organized to share their experience regarding university examinations.

Miss. Nisha Shah, Fine & Fragrances Ltd., an alumni has delivered a two day lecture and workshop on ?Perfumery, Aromatherapy & Candlemaking? for Self Employment Course conducted by the Chemistry Department.

Mr. V. M. Ramachandran, Care & Clean, Mulund had delivered a workshop on preparation of Detergents, Toiletries, Soaps, etc. for Self Employment Course.?

A lecture on ?Atmosphere in our industry? by Dr.Sreenath Trivikram from Research Support International Ltd. which was followed by interaction with the post graduate students for future placements.

The PSA will be conducting a Fund raising event & a Logo Competition for the first time which is open to students as well as ex-students for celebrating the Golden Jubilee Year of SIES. The best Logo will be selected to represent the Golden Jubilee year.

The health post by Dr. Aarti Agarwal, a General Physician is a ongoing programme. She visits every week on Thursdays and offers free check ups and follow up treatment to students and staff free of cost.
