| In a Knowledge based economy, education can be a major contributor to economic growth and national development. The fact that ?knowledge? is an equalizer and the duty to provide it to masses is the key focus of SIES.? With this in mind and the need to meet the expectations of the 21st century namely multicultural, multilingual and multidimensional work environment, the following measures are undertaken to enhance the knowledge imparted, make the students more competent, self - reliant in today?s world of competition and at the same time make them morally responsible citizens. |
| Since the reaccreditation of the institution by NAAC in the year 2010-2011 the institution has scaled new heights and has been the recipient of some prestigious awards to cite a few. |
| Our contributions to the academics and outstanding achievements of the students have been highly appreciated by the University of Mumbai. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mumbai Dr. Rajan M. Welukar ?has conferred the ?BEST COLLEGE AWARD? to our institution. |
| The College Magazine ?Dakshinayanam? has been appreciated for its layout and content by other colleges in Mumbai. It has won our institution the ?PROF.M.V.CHANDGADKAR TROPHY FOR BEST COLLEGE MAGAZINE 2010 ? 2011.? |
| The Head of the Institution Dr. Harsha Mehta has been elected to the Senate of University of Mumbai with the highest number of votes from the Principals Constituency. |
| To appreciate her services in the cause of education Dr. Harsha Mehta has also been awarded with " Indian Achievers' Award 2010-2011" for Educational Excellence at the 27th Indian Achievers Summit on "Global Business Opportunities" at New Delhi, India on March 30, 2011. |

| Based on the exit report of the peer team the objectives of the institution have been redefined. |
- To strengthen the research activities by seeking guidance from established researchers in different subjects. In order to achieve this many of our teachers will visit various institutions and organizations so as to get an insight into the research facilities offered by them, their mode of working etc.
- To invite experts from various organizations to review the facilities available and to seek their advice on different aspects of developing linkages with their organizations.
- To make various value - added courses available within the institution so that students and staff members can enhance their present skills as well as acquire new skills.? These short term courses will be aimed at making the students independent and ready for the job segment. Various self employment courses will be also offered to students with the aim of making them independent.
- To initiate coaching for competitive examinations will be provided free of cost to students of minority communities.
- To expand our placement cell to include members from various departments to ensure that the best possible placement opportunities would be provided to the students.
- To inculcate moral values and a commitment to serve the society student centric activities towards community welfare would be initiated.
- Measures to be taken to maintain and create awareness about cleanliness in and around the institute.
- To streamline the documentation process, automation of administration procedure will be initiated.
- An Employee?s Credit Society is proposed to be formed in order to ensure security and a feeling of well being among the staff members.
- Overall security of the college will be enhanced so as to provide a safe and secure environment within the institution.

| Research Oriented Activities |
- Research oriented linkages with industries will be initiated.
- Registration of more teachers as Ph.D. guides and more research projects.
- Registration of more teachers for Ph.D Research.
- Recognition of Laboratories for Ph. D programmes.

| Teaching - Learning Resources |
- Formalizing orientation programmes for all classes at the college level with an aim to provide clarity into each course being offered.
- Build the confidence of the students regarding the course selected.
- Make them comfortable with the subject of their choice.
- Inform about the opportunities that would be available after completion of the course.
- Expand the use of ICT in Teaching Methods ? Teachers will be provided with training for preparing ICT based lectures with the help of Computer and Information technology staff. Teachers will be encouraged to use E-Resources within the syllabus.

- Propose to form college Anthem so as to inculcate a feeling of oneness among the students.
- Implement various community service project activities in support of NGO?s and Government agencies such as Police, Traffic Police, Municipality, etc.
- Foreign Exchange Programmes for students.
